Golden yellow with copper hints.
An intense aroma with pronounced hints of acacia flower, broom, and apple.
Elegant, fruity, full-bodied and structured, with a long finish.
Aperitifs and lighter fare like salads, seafood, and white meats.
Produced in the villages of Farra d'Isonzo, San Floriano, and Cormòns in the Collio DOC in Friuli. The Collio's hilly terrain, formed during the Eocene period, consists of layers of sandstone and loam rock (limestone and clay) that were once part of the ocean floor. The resulting soil is impermeable, so rainwater flows off its surface, producing little erosion and preventing stagnant water.
Th vines are trained on a Guyot system, and the grapes are hand-harvested. After destemming, the must and pulp undergo a cold maceration, followed by a gentle pressing to separate the grapes from the skins. Fementation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine thus obtained is left to refine six months on the lees before being bottled, and then some more months in the bottle.

"The 2024 Pinot Grigio Mongris lifts from the glass with airy, minty freshness as nuances of split pine and spearmint combine with freshly sliced nectarines. It pleases the senses with a contrasting mix of salty minerals and ripe pit fruits over a core of brisk acidity. The finish is clean and crisp, leaving a lemony concentration and cheek-pinching tension." - Eric Guido

"Pale straw yellow with copper-coloured tendencies. Fragrant, smoky bouquet of peach blossom, Mediterranean scrub and juicy honeydew melon. Also beautifully juicy on the palate, alternating with bright acidity and fresh fruit flavours." - Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler

"The Marco Felluga 2024 Collio Pinot Grigio Mongris is sharp and lifted, offering a strong sense of vertical intensity with aromas of sweet lemon, Golden Delicious apple and baked pear with a hint of pie crust. It’s encouraging to see Pinot Grigio interpreted in such a fine and sophisticated manner, with finesse and a glossy texture that elevate its easygoing charm. It is ideal for salads and outdoor lunches while still delivering excellent value. Made in stainless steel and aged on the lees for five months, the wine comes from Collio’s ancient flysch soils formed around 50 million years ago, which help shape its freshness and mineral precision." - Monica Larner

"The name Mongris is derived from combining two words: monovitigno, a single variety, and gris, which means gray in Friulian. It is a grape that has been cultivated in the Collio region since the mid-1800s, and reaches extraordinary heights in the Collio DOC villages of Farra d'Isonzo, San Floriano, and Cormòns. The hilly terrain consists of layers of sandstone, limestone, and clay that once formed the ocean floor. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, where the finished wine rests on its lees for 6 months. In the glass, it has intense acacia flowers and freshly cut apples that manifests on its mineral, saline, stony palate. The finish is long, delicate, persistent, and elegant. A first class wine that rescues the reputation of pinot grigio for a moment." - Anthony Gismondi
2023 -
"Bright acidity buoys flavors of ripe nectarine, pineapple and guava fruit, plus accents of grated ginger, blood orange zest and honeysuckle. Lithe and lively on the palate, with a mouthwatering finish." - Alison Napjus
2023 -
"Marco Felluga’s Mongris Pinot Grigrio pours bright straw and opens with nectarine, guava and a spark of ginger. Its sleek palate balances tropical-fruit ripeness with zesty blood-orange lift, all carried on a fine mineral seam. Silky yet vibrant, the finish is salivatingly fresh. A delightful sipper through 2028, especially paired alongside fettucine Alfredo or smoked salmon sandwiches. Pinot Grigio food pairings: pasta Alfredo, smoked salmon Bennies, salads."

"Here's a well-priced, easy-drinking white to pair with a Greek or Niçoise salad. The Marco Felluga 2023 Collio Pinot Grigio Mongris sees about five months on the lees in stainless steel vats... It shows neutral fruit aromas with hints of white rose and citrus that veer toward preserved lemon or hot-climate Pomelo fruit. It finishes easy and lean." - Monica Larner

"This Pinot Grigio comes from the rolling hills of Collio, a high-quality growing site nestled in northeastern Italy's Friuli region. The influence from the Alps and the Adriatic sea allow wines from this area to retain acidity while developing complex flavors, and that comes across in this Pinot Grigio. It has aromas of orchard fruit and citrus on the nose, and the palate offers an intriguing lemon oil-like texture lifted by refreshing acidity." - Hannah Staab
2021 -
"Bright light gold. Fine precious wood, cream, vanilla on the nose, then banana and peach and a little smoky. Inviting with yellow fruit on the palate, full-bodied, oily, with a long finish and a malty aftertaste." - Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler

Hints of lime and residual acids sizzle through the finale, making it hard to resist another sip."
