Sancerre, Loire, France

Our estate is a beautiful family property whose cellars are located in the heart of the village of Chavignol. We have been growing our own vines for almost 5 generations.

Our vineyard is very fragmented and extends over more than 7 municipalities. Intense erosion resulted in more than 15 soil types. We cultivate almost 60 hectares of vines spread on the best slopes of clay, limestone and flint. Our vineyard consists of 45 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, 15 hectares of Pinot Noir and our vines have an average age of 30 to 50 years.

More Info

Since 1900 Hubert Brochard's teams have revealed the nuance and richness of the great Centre Loire terroirs with precision, just like in this expression of Sauvignon Blanc!

Grapes are harvested at full maturity and fermented in stainless steel. The wine rests on fine lees until it is bottled in the Spring.

"Dried lemon peel, green apple and nectarine aromas open on the nose dusted with chamomile and orange blossom. The palate is juicy with a thin layer of tartness that offers constructive counterbalance. Freshly-crushed stone adds additional depth on the finish of this fruit-forward bottling that delights." - Reggie Solomon

"From a combination of clay-limestone (Argilo-calcaires) and clay-flint (Argilo-silex) soils, aged on lees. A weighty, ripe and forward Sauvignon with distinctive aroma of tropical fruit (lychee and pineapple) combining with notes of zesty citrus... Juicy, lemon-sherbet character on the palate and drinking very well now. A fine example of IGP Val de Loire." - Andy Howard MW
