This wine is made exclusively from Piedmont's king of red grapes, Nebbiolo, sourced from the hilltop vineyards of La Morra and Verdunno. The wine macerates on the skins for eight days before ageing for 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks. A great introduction to Nebbiolo before moving onto tasting big grippy Barolo's, or if you are already well acquainted with the grape, open it and enjoy it as an everyday treat to enhance just about any Italian inspired meal.
Rocche Costamagna's winemaking philosophy is to combine modern technologies with respect for the distinctive character of each local varietal. The grapes from each vineyard are processed separately to reflect both the personality of the varietal and the terroir.
