The three varieties used for Chic come from the Penedes region. The climate is Mediterranean, with mild winters and warm summers. The Penedes baja is the hottest region due to its proximity to the sea. The climate is cooler in the Central and Penedes Alta, with the latter being more hilly and with a slight continental climate.

"New to me, this Pere Ventura Chic is a blend of Xarel-lo, Macabeu and Parellada from around the low Penedes region of Catalonia. Expect classic notes of orchard fruits and lime, preserved melon and bread dough along with chamomile tea. It has a nice mousse and the Xarel-lo really stand outs to me thanks to it's liveliness; it has a creamy edge, nice roundness with fleshy fruit and a precise persistent finish."

"Chic is a straight up Cava with a medium persistence, toasty apple, green apple, lees, and citrus notes. So clean and fresh, it beckons for a mid-afternoon tapas party on the patio."

"Clean and correct Cava, with simple green apple and lemon fruit that's backed by a subtle yeastiness... Chic is a blend of traditional Cava varieties, aged for a minimum of nine months on lees." - Geoffrey Moss MW
