Deep red.
Red and black berries.
Red fruit dominant (black currant and raspberry) with a touch of toast on the finish. Smooth and almost fresh with softened tannins.
Hearty stews, duck, rich tomato-based dishes.
The earliest known chateau in the Costieres de Nimes appellation. Part of the village of Geneac, it has always been a wine estate and its boundaries have hardly changed over the centuries (53ha, 22 classified AOC).
The soils are highly typical of the appellation with large smooth stones from alluvial deposits from the Rhone and Durance Rivers. In summer they heat up during the day and give off heat at night. The red clay gives Costieres land a coppery tinge and retains the heavy seasonal rains in the groundwater which irrigates the vineyards over the year.
2022 -
"A linear, easygoing yet rich red offering notes of spiced cherries, warm herbs and sweet spices. Medium-bodied with melty tannins. Juicy fruit character, with a simple finish."
