More Info

The earliest known chateau in the Costieres de Nimes appellation. Part of the village of Geneac, it has always been a wine estate and its boundaries have hardly changed over the centuries (53ha, 22 classified AOC).
The soils are highly typical of the appellation with large smooth stones from alluvial deposits from the Rhone and Durance Rivers. In summer they heat up during the day and give off heat at night. The red clay gives Costieres land a coppery tinge and retains the heavy seasonal rains in the groundwater which irrigates the vineyards over the year.

James Suckling, Jan/2025

2022 -

"A linear, easygoing yet rich red offering notes of spiced cherries, warm herbs and sweet spices. Medium-bodied with melty tannins. Juicy fruit character, with a simple finish."
