Maison Louis Jadot’s story can’t be reduced to a simple list of dates. It is, above all, a summary of moments, meetings and an overall philosophy, all based on one simple vision: to maintain the grandeur of Burgundy’s great terroirs for all time.
It all began with a parcel of vines. And we all know just how important these individual bits of land are in Burgundy. It was with the purchase of the Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules that the story of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826. For nearly 200 years they have focused their energies on promoting Burgundy and its viticultural heritage. Ever since the birth of Maison Louis Jadot, they have managed to reunite hundreds of parcels of vines, handing them down from one generation to another in order to guarantee the quality of the wines from this unique terroir.

Pale straw colour.
Exuberant lemon, honey and white flowers with a gentle touch of vanilla.
With fresh honey and white flower aromas, the wine shows elegant, rich white fruit on the palate in a medium-full body with fresh acidity.
Pairs with most white, flaky fish such as Dover sole and halibut, white meat such as pork, and poultry. This wine can be enjoyed immediately or within five years of the vintage. It is best served chilled.
Louis Jadot Chardonnay is vinified and blended from 100% Chardonnay grapes selected from quality wine growers in the Cote Chalonnaise, the Maconnais and the Hautes-Cotes de Beaune. The wine is classified "Bourgogne Blanc" in appellation, but a proportion of superior village-level wines is added in most vintages to optimize the quality of the final blend. Made in a more full-bodied and structured style than most of Jadot's Maconnais wines, the wine is partially fermented and aged on the lees in oak casks to add a rich, round character.
An affordable white Burgundy from the region's foremost producer. A proportion of superior village-level wines is added in most vintages to optimize the quality of the final blend. Partially fermented and aged in oak casks for a rich, round character.

“Bright, zesty style, with citrus, honeyed pineapple fruit flavours. Honest and enjoyable.”

"I have to say some of Burgundy's biggest negociants have upped their Bourgogne game in the last few years; a case in point is Jadot chardonnay. The Bourgogne Blanc fruit is chardonnay purchased from quality growers in the Mâconnais, Côte Chalonnaise, and recently, Côte d'Or vineyards. Only about one-third of this white wine sees oak; the remaining is fermented and aged in stainless steel. The result is a freshness or a bright acidity that brings a lemony/citrus character to a mineral, nutty white with a touch of straw. It is stylish stuff and a real introduction to white Burgundy. Food-friendly from everything to chicken, creamy pasta creations, or shellfish on the coast. It's an enjoyable chardonnay with true Euro style." - Anthony Gismondi

"This white Burgundy is made from parcels of Chardonnay in the Côte d'Or and Mâconnais. Vinified and aged in a well-judged combination of used oak and stainless steel, giving both freshness and depth to the palate. Nose of citrus, buttered toast and lemon cough drops. More toasty citrus on the rounded palate, with a creamy texture that's balanced by poised acidity for a fresh finish. A great food wine."

"White peach, lemon zest and slightly toasty aromas. Mellow lemon marshmallow palate with a good, clean finish."

"Ripe florals, confit lemon and elderflower with a zingy freshness and an underlying warming toasty edge. Supple and fine."

"...Only about one-third of this white wine sees oak; the remaining is fermented and aged in stainless steel. I like the freshness here, the hint of yellow fruits, and the straw, mineral, citrus, and nut throughout. There is delicate harmony here. You can be assured this is food-friendly. Chicken dishes or creamy pasta creations all work here, as well as shellfish. An enjoyable Euro-style chardonnay." - Anthony Gismondi

"Woven, fresh, creamy. The Couvent des Jacobins Chardonnay hails from the Cote d'Or and Maconnais; it is aged partially in oak and the rest in stainless steel. Expect attractive notes of Jonagold apple and hazelnuts, lemon wax and straw, wet stone and acacia, which lead to a palate that is fresh with a slick weight. Creamy yellow fruit, nuts and sweet spice flavours dominate on this vintage. Wonderfully woven and fresh. Pair: White meats and oily fish, soft-medium cheeses and creamy soups and pastas."

"The Jadot Bourgogne Blanc is 100% chardonnay purchased from growers in the Mâconnais and Côte Chalonnaise and more recently from Cote d’Or sites. A third is barrel-fermented; the rest is fermented in stainless steel, and a portion is aged in a barrel. The latter lends it a bit of weight and roundness that smooths out the mid-palate and finish. 2019 is a high-quality vintage and the kind of year when Bourgogne wines can shine and be great buys. The colour is light, the nose attractive with mineral, stony, green apple notes, the mid-palate fill in with richer nutty citrus fruits with a touch of tropicality — delicious for the price and appealing to Euro-style chardonnay drinkers." - Anthony Gismondi

"A ripe style, verging on tropical fruit flavors of mango and pineapple, with lemon and baking spice accents chiming in on the mouthwatering finish. Drink now. 7,500 cases imported."

"You seldom find any white Burgundy that delivers like this label at $32. Traditionally a mix of fruit from the Cote Chalonnaise, the Maconnais and the Hautes-Cotes de Beaune, but lately, Jadot has added a portion of Cote d'Or to improve the quality significantly. Look for toast, baked apple, pear that tumbles onto the palate where they mix with citrus and a creamy undercarriage. Pair with citrus seafood dishes. Well done."

"Intense nose, Granny Smith apple and fresh peach. Round mouth feel. Slightly smoky, sweet oak finish."
2017 -
"The 2017 Bourgogne Couvent des Jacobins, which contains a large majority of fruit from the Côte d’Or, has a pleasant, tropical-tinged bouquet featuring notes of passion fruit and guava. The palate is well balanced with good weight, a fine bead of acidity, an easygoing personality and a touch of sour lemon perking up the finish. Enjoy over the next two or three years."
2017 -
"Very attractive aromas of peaches and melon here, leading to a very tart and tangy palate with bright acidity. This is really fresh. Great value here! Drink now."

"The 2016 Bourgogne Couvent des Jacobins, which was already in bottle, has a simple, light honeysuckle-scented bouquet. The palate is primal with grapefruit and a touch of sour lemon, not long but at least clean. Drink over the next 18 months or so."

"This wine’s brisk green notes of fresh herbs led Josh Lit of NYC’s The Modern to consider pairing it with the restaurant’s hamachi with green apple and sorrel. There’s plenty of clean acidity providing a salty character, while there’s also some alcohol warmth. Serve it chilled."
2014 -
"Honey, golden, lively. Expect attractive notes of apple turnovers, yellow pears, hazelnuts, lemon curds and honey followed with browned butter and some toasted oak undertones. The palate is concentrated and similarly attired with nuts, citrus and creamy golden fruits. It is lively and mouthwatering with just a hint of creaminess to take the edge off. Hails from the Cote d'Or and Maconnais and it is aged partially in oak and the rest in stainless steel. Pair: White meats and oily fish, soft-medium cheeses and creamy soups and pastas."

"A slightly fruitier, more pear-driven Bourgogne chardonnay from the reliable house of Jadot, a consistent value year after year in the entry-level playground. It's fresh and lively, with a touch of resinous wood that should resolve over the next 6 months-one year. Decent length and depth, too. Solid stuff."
