Bodega Amalaya was born in 2010 in the high-altitude plains of the Calchaqui Valley in Salta, Argentina. It is the vision of Larissa and Christoph Ehrbar (wine pioneer Donald Hess’s successors). They believed in the unique ’high-vibration’ qualities of Cafayate’s terroir and the ability to craft high-quality, fresh, vibrant and contemporary high-altitude wines.

Pairs beautifully with fresh summer salads, seafood, or with salmon carpaccio.

" The 2023 Rosado, a salmon-colored blend of 95% Malbec and 5% Torrontés from Calchaquí Valley, offers aromas of rose and cherry. Indulgent, taut and refreshing, the palate is pleasantly malic, ending with a fruity finish." - Joaquin Hidalgo

" The 2022 Rosado Malbec-Torrontés contains a 5% dash of Torrontés. Pink panther in the glass. The nose offers a hint of cherry and attractive white flower aromas. In the mouth, it's dry, malic and refreshing with moderate fat."

"From Cafayate, the 2021 Rosé Malbec - Torrontés has a 5% dash of Torrontés and presents a subtle nose of sour cherry with hints of herb and quince and a whiff of white flowers. Malic with a fresh palate this is a simple rosé with intense flavor that ought to be drunk young."

"We probably don't think of rosé as coming from Argentina, so this is a welcome bottle on our shelves. Made mostly with malbec and a little bit of torrontés, the nose has a clean raspberry aroma with slightly plummy and brambly berry on the palate, and there's a little bit of tannin and weight too. The malbec comes through in the mouth dominating the fruits, but it's summery and perfect for a hot day - paired with seafood or even a cheese plate."
2019 -
"There's a fresh array of bright red berries here and a dry, crisp palate that has a little heaviness and thickness at the finish. 95% malbec and 5% torrontes. Drink now."
2017 -
" This is very much in the mold of Provencal rosé combining bright red berry, orange peel and nectarine notes with fullish body and a very clean, appetizing finish. Where are those grilled prawns? Drink now. Screw cap."
